Who wants to be a millionaire?

1999 – for most people this was probably a relatively normal year. The Euro was introduced as a virtual currency in eleven EU member states and Lou Bega topped the German charts with "Mambo No. 5" for eleven weeks.

However, for Textilpflege Meyer GmbH & Co. KG from Bad Iburg, the JENSEN Senking Universal, and the TV show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", 1999 was a very special year.

Who wants to be a millionaire?
In 1999 Brigitte Köppen-Börs and Carsten Börs took over company management from Gisela Köppen and invested in new laundry machine technology. The procurement of a new JENSEN washing installation was to be the stepping stone to a successful and reliable business in the years to follow.

German TV station RTL also invested in the internationally successful "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" quiz format, which to this day forms part of the German TV schedule. We have long since become familiar with lifelines to phone a friend, ask the audience and strike out two incorrect answers.

17 years later, we have come full circle: the Senking Universal P36 tunnel washer procured in 1999 reports its one millionth washing cycle!

Phoning a friend
