Application / Operation                                                             

Highly flexible folding system for fitted sheets, flat sheets, flat sheet with attached hem and piping, duvet covers and other flat products, run by one or two operators. Machine is fed W x L.

  • The textile is manually placed by the operator onto a feeding conveyor. The feeding conveyor is automatically started by photocells or push via button. Upon activation the feeding conveyor transports the textile into the lateral fold section. The machine has a special feeding system making the first fold with a prefold (1) where the piece is folded down to the required width, in order to meet the required end size. The prefold (1) will be set in each category. In this case the textile will be making a 90° transfer before going into the main machine.
  • The prefold (1) can also be bypassed, when the piece to be folded is under 1400 mm/ 56” in width (Twin/Full) piece to be fed length x length. In this case the cardboard is inserted in the first layer, prefold (3). In order to show attached hem and borders on a flat sheet, an additional prefold (2) is needed. This fold can be by-passed when folding fitted sheets.
  • Textiles longer than 1600 mm/63” are pre-folded, ensuring that they can enter the lateral fold section without problems.
  • Textiles shorter than 1600mm/63” can pass the prefold station without being pre-folded. If a cardboard is required the pieces must be pre-folded.
  • The cardboard inserter is placed at the prefold station where the cardboard is inserted automatically.
  • Single as well as bookfold inserts can be used. The inserter is motor driven. This way we make sure that the cardboard is inserted perfectly. The inserter is adjustable for all sizes of boards.

  • The lateral fold section is decisive for the width of the folded product. The lateral fold is accomplished by 2 fold blades over an adjustable template. Adjustment of the template is easily done by push-button.
    Min. 200 mm/8“, Max. 400 mm/16“.
  • The external crossfold station operates with the swing-arm principle. The folding plates are automatically adjusting to the different thickness of the fabric, in order to avoid unnecessary tension on the product. 3 swing arm stations are needed to get the product down to the required end size.
  • 1st and 2nd quality stackers (optional)
  • Quality sorting, up to 4:
    • 1st quality, stacker one
    • 2nd quality, stacker two
    • 3rd & 4th quality, by-pass the stackers into a basket.
