  • The BUTTERFLY is designed as an all-in-one folder.
    The following models are available:
    • Butterfly Towel, Standard
    • Butterfly Towel Flex
    • Butterfly Towel Multiflex

 

Functional description                                                                  

  • The towel is delivered from an automatic sewing system, ex. A-frame.
    A controlled vacuum is used to fix the towel and facilitating an additional quality inspection. Pressing a push button does quality sorting.  One sorting is standard, additional sorting’s can be added optional.
  •  A laser has been installed giving the operator a Y-coordinate for positioning of the towel while feeding. The required position of the laser can be set in the PLC, shown on the display. Adjustment manually.
  • The towel enters the lateral fold section and is positioned centrally.
    This guarantees a minimum cycle time. The lateral fold is done by means of folding blades over an adjustable template. The horizontal folding movement guarantees both fast folding and add a stretching effect to the towel.
    The lateral section can be adjusted in the high (2 pos.) to optimize the quality on thick and thin towels.
    In order to guarantee that the edges will not be showing in the final folded package the templates as well as the folding blades is modified. The folding blades forces the corners on the leading edge away from the edge and the template is modified to make the trailing edge narrower that the leading edge. The templates will also move in an out in order to keep the towel parallel on the top and narrower at the bottom. It is also possible to make a quarter fold using the same principal as well as bypassing pieces up to 420mm in width.
  •  The first crossfold is done by means of reversing conveyor and airblast, optional with reversing conveyor and knife.
  • The second crossfold is done via reversing conveyor and airblast. Positioning the towel in sandwich conveyor, adding a pressing effect to the towel.
  • The crossfold section can be set to different thick nesses of towel. Optimizing the folding result. Three positions can be set in the microprocessor; can also be used to give the towel a pressing effect.
  • The towel is automatically re-measured before and after the first crossfold to assume the defined end size.
  • Operator panel CT 1081 with up to 99 customized programs and PLC microprocessor.
  • Service friendly concept (easy access, no chains but drive belts, noiseless).
  • The description above is standard for all 3 models.
  • The Butterfly Flex has the stacker placed on-line, which gives you the possibility to stack only lateral folded pieces, without bypassing through the crossfold section. Optimizing the quality.
  • The Butterfly Multiflex has an additional crossfold, done via the well-known swingarm principle. This give you the possibility to make an additional crossfold on bigger towels, or make a half fold on very thin and small pieces. Total flexibility.
